AN EXCEPTIONAL HAIR ORNAMENT TURQUOISE AND SILVER YURA FROM TIBET
A glorious antique Tibetan silver hair ornament. This beautiful large treasure has a large string hole which would have been used to tie it in to a women hair. With old turquoises on the front, turquoises on the sides. There is some denting to the surface on one side. A silver sheet covers the underside, which may have been a later replacement but it still has some age and wear. This is the oldest example I have seen and is possibly 18th century. Wear according to age and use. Such beads were worn in the hair by upper class women in Lhasa.
